Today I have some exciting information to share with you. In this post you will read about some small details about one specific area that we’re currently working on.
As you might have heard, Lilly (our main protagonist) is the daughter of Grim. Someone that we’ve shown in our first game on Steam.
In Rogue Reaper: Awakening, we hope to explore the differences between life and death. One particular way we’re approaching this, is by creating a bridge between the two worlds. As I have said before: nothing is final yet, but I would like to take you along on a journey through the progress we have made on this.
A bridge between two worlds
In the first game, Lilly went to the realm of the living to see why there was a sudden influx of souls. In Rogue Reaper: Awakening, we’re aiming for more storytelling. We love the idea of exploring the roots of Lilly. Where did she come from? Is there a “realm of the death”? And is this where Lilly and Grim live?
At the moment we’re exploring the thought of having two separate worlds. One idea that we love at the studio is to have a bridge between those two worlds. And that’s exactly what we’re working on right now.
The edge of the world
In our current process, we’re working on a well-hidden cave that is at the edge of the living world. Nobody has been there for centuries. This cave acts as the place where the two worlds meet. The theme we’re going for is a dark, yet slightly magical area.
In today’s post, I’m not only sharing some WIP-images with you but I would also kindly like to ask for your suggestions and ideas!

Different mushrooms that could be used inside the cave acting as sources of light
How you can give your suggestions
This specific area is showing the differences between life and death. Two themes that play a big part in Rogue Reaper: Awakening. Our artists are still working on assets for this specific area. However, if you have any suggestions, we would love to hear them!
In the coming weeks, we will share more and more about this topic.
Thanks for being a part of this adventure with us!
